The Most Popular Natural Beauty Remedies

Off the shelf beauty products don’t always work for everyone, especially if you have sensitive skin for example. It’s a good idea to experiment and find out what works best for you. With this in mind, we thought we’d look at some of the most popular natural beauty remedies.

Coconut Oil

As well as being suitable as a skin cleanser and moisturiser, coconut oil is also ideal for make-up removal. Coconut oil can also be used as a hair conditioner; rub a small amount on your scalp and work through the hair then, after a couple of hours, wash with shampoo.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is great as a facial toner; simply apply a couple of tablespoons to skin using cotton balls. It can also be utilised as a hair rinse; take a few tablespoonfuls and soak into damp hair before rinsing out and using conditioner.

Baking Soda

Baking soda has many beneficial health properties. Perhaps the most well-known is for teeth-whitening, which involves mixing with water and gently scrubbing the teeth. Don’t overdo it though, as you don’t want to erode tooth enamel! Baking soda can also be used as a skin exfoliator, again when mixed with water.

Avocados are packed full of beneficial vitamins which can aid in the reduction of inflammation. Avocados are also great for soothing sunburn and treating age spots. Simply crush up half an avocado and mix with a teaspoon of olive oil. Apply to your face and leave for 20 minutes before washing off using lukewarm water.
