Many of us these days are practising a more holistic approach to life-something which followers believe offers many benefits.
If you are not familiar with the concept, holistic medicine is a method of healing that aims to help our mind, body, emotions and spirit. The holistic approach is different from conventional medicine in that it focuses on the bod as a whole instead of looking at the individual parts. It seeks to find imbalances physically, emotionally and energetically and then take any necessary actions to reinstate homeostasis (which is the ability to maintain a relatively stable internal state that persists despite all of the changes in the outside world)
Experts in the field believe that balancing our minds as well as bodies is essential to our overall health-as if one part was to become imbalanced, another may as well. An example of the approach in action would be to imagine if you had a recurring headache. Instead of taking medicine to mask the pain, look deeper into why you may be having these recurring headaches.
This hack uses peppermint oil, which is a type of essential oil containing a strong selection of healing properties. It also has antimicrobial properties and the ability to increase blood circulation and so it can be used on your scalp to stimulate hair growth. To try this hack:
Apply the oil to the fingertips and massage onto the entire scalp. The resulting cooling and tingly sensation of the peppermint should increase blood flow to the scalp helping to stimulate hair growth.
This hack uses liquid chlorophyll, which is the green pigment found in plants to help them absorb sunlight. Liquid chlorophyll promotes oxygen in the skin and the reproduction of red blood cells to help skin look clear and vibrant. Liquid chlorophyll can also kill bad germs and bacteria which can be found within the body, helping to clear existing breakouts as well as prevent more from occurring. For this hack, follow these directions:
First, add 1 tsp of liquid chlorophyll to 8oz of water, then, using a straw, quickly drink the concoction to avoid the staining of your tongue and teeth. Drink this up to twice daily.
Some people want to avoid antibiotics to treat ear infections as they believe them to be harmful. For thousands of years, garlic has been utilised as a natural remedy, and it is filled with anti-bacterial, anti-oxidizing, anti-microbial, anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties, meaning it is a great holistic answer to ear infection issues. The hack goes as follows:
Either purchase ear drops that contain garlic extract or you can try the homemade method which involves crushing one garlic clove and dissolving it in 2 tsp of olive oil. Once you have your solution, place a few drops of it into the ear canal and let it sit for 30-35 minutes-as long as the eardrum is not ruptured. If you are unsure if is ruptured or not, cut a clove of garlic in half and place it between two layers of gauze, then place the gauze and garlic on the outside of the ear for 30 minutes. Hopefully, you will have found some of the above hacks helpful-it is just a small selection of the possibilities of a more holistic approach to health and beauty hacks and it is a very interesting topic to explore further.
