Moisturise

Keeping your skin moisturised is essential and should be carried out twice daily – first thing in the morning when you get up and last thing at night before you go to bed. Make sure the moisturiser you are using is gentle and doesn’t cause irritation with daily use.

Exfoliate

Exfoliation is the process of getting rid of dead skin cells. As well as the skin on your face, the skin on your body requires exfoliation. This should be carried out a couple of times a week with a pH neutral exfoliator.

Diet

The food that you eat and the that beverages you drink can have a massive impact on skin health. Eating food high in omega-3 such as walnuts and flax seeds help your skin to retain moisture. Make sure to get plenty of fruit and veg as well whilst avoiding high intake of carbohydrates.

Avoid Too Many Products

Using an assortment of different skincare products together can actually be detrimental to the health of your skin. This is because it can lead to clogging of the pores. Find a couple of good products that work for you and stick to those.


Keep Make-Up Brushes Clean

Washing your concealer and foundation brushes on a weekly basis is a simple yet effective way of avoiding clogging of the pores. Any brushes used around the eyes can be washed twice a month whilst all other brushes should be cleaned once a month. Cleaning is easy; simply get a drop of mild shampoo in your palm, moisten the brush bristles with warm water and then rub the bristles into your hand. Rinse and dry with a towel and your brush is ready to use again!
